Hull FC have had second thoughts on taking a pre-season training camp to the South of France in the New Year, with logistics the likely cause for abandoning the schedule.
The black and whites could have been basking in some mild pre-season weather abroad, but given the club travel ‘down under’ as the new Super League season begins, head coach Lee Radford is concerned his players may be racking up too many air miles which is a point certainly understood from his perspective.
It’s a much more likely scenario that Radford will instead opt to remain based entirely locally before the long-haul trip to Australia, with potential games against lower league opposition, including Doncaster. You may be glad to know no pre-season derby will be taking place this season too!
The back-to-back Challenge Cup winners returned to training 2 weeks ago, and new recruit, but familiar face Mickey Paea was back this Monday. USA International Bureta Faraimo is expected to begin his time at Hull in a fort-night, pending Visa clearance.
